Nifty, Nifty Look Whose Fifty!!

My mother turned 50 years old on August 3rd. My sisters and I threw her a surprise birthday party on the 4th. We had it in my parents front yard and it was decorated really good. It was a ton of fun. We had tables, chairs, balloons, great food, guests, and the whole nine yards. Several people were there to celebrate with my mom. All day my sisters and I were running errands to gather the stuff for the party so we could start setting up.  My grandparents took my mother out all day long so she wouldn't have any idea. She came home a little bit too early while we were setting up but other than that she had no idea about the party. My sister made a chicken salad, brownies, cookies, grapes, etc. The guests began to arrive and we just visited for about 2 1/2 hours and my mom got to see some old friends and people she knew.

There was a little mishap at the party....it started to rain and not just rain but POURED for about twenty minutes. So we grabbed the food and we all squeezed into the garage waiting for it to pass. Other than that the party went off with a hit. Happy Birthday Mom!! May you have fifty more great years! Love you!

Birthday Camping Trip

For my birthday at the first of the month Randy, Me, my little sister Mikala, and her friend Bianca all went camping in Island Park.We stayed at a campground called Sawtell. We borrowed my grandparents motorhome and stayed in that. It is an older one but it was a ton of fun. We were there for three days and laughed lots, played games, rode four wheelers, roasted starburst on the fire, swam, celebrated my 23rd birthday, ate cake and hung out. It was a ton of fun and a great way to celebrate my birthday. Here are some pictures of our adventures.

Reading, Cleaning, and Organizing Oh What Fun It Is To Do!!!!

So I am out of school for the "summer" and I have seven and a half weeks worth of absolutely nothing to do. So I am going to fill my time by reading a lot of books, organizing my house, and cleaning it very THOROUGHLY after my laundry project is done.
As for the reading I am re-reading the Harry Potter series and then I am going to watch all the movies, I am reading the Twilight series, and just other random books I get from the library and my mother-in-laws bookshelves. I love to read and my goal is to read 40 books in seven weeks and I have been out of school not even a week yet and have already read three.

I am a person who loves to clean and organize things. It really bothers me when I see a dirty house our something out of sorts and for those of you who read my blog and know me really well when I get in a cleaning mood you don't want to stop me. So for the next while my swifter, clorox, CLR, 409, broom, and mop are going to be my best friends. My house is going to be very shiny and clean. Yay and what fun for ME!!!

Laundry Room Construction

Well Randy and I got all moved into our house. We moved the weekend of the 15th and have now gotten pretty much all settled in. I will post pictures later after the laundry room that is now under construction is finished because my house is really dirty and dusty from it. So the Monday after we moved in Randy Chambers began construction for our new upstairs laundry room/mud room. I am so excited that I won't have to go downstairs to do laundry I just have to walk through the kitchen. Blake and Diana thought it would be a good idea to build one. It is looking great so far. Below are some pictures of Blake, Randy, and Randy Chambers doing the framing, what my garage looks like, and the whole lovely mess that is now my soon to be laundry room. These pictures were taken about a week ago and it is now much further along. It is now all framed, plumbing is done, electrical is done, insulated, and all sheetrocked. Hopefully it will be all done by the time I get back from Utah in the middle of August. Let's just say I am not a fan of construction going on at my house while I am living in it but the whole thing will be so worth it! I can't thank Randy Chambers and my parents-in-law enough! The finished project will be posted in about two to three weeks but for now here are some.

Snowmobile Water Races

Last week Randy and I went to Blackfoot to watch the snowmobile races on water. We went with Blake and Diana. They started at 11:00 and were pretty interesting other than the fact that a lot of people sank theirs and it took forever for the boat to drag the snowmobile out of the water. We stayed for about and hour and a half it just was so hot that we decided to leave and go get some lunch at Rupes. It was a fun afternoon and I am glad that we went to Blackfoot Pride Days.



A Little Angel

One year ago today this little angel left this earth to return home to live with her Heavenly Father. Her name is Preslee Jo Sullenger. Although I have never met her personally she has forever changed my life. I read about her story on her mothers blog. I have met her mom though I had one class with her at BYU-Idaho in 2009. The day I read about what happened to this precious little girl and to her parents I cried my eyes out. She is so cute and seems like the sweetest girl. She made me want to be a better person and really made me step back and realize all I have to be grateful for. She strengthened my testimony so much. I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves each and every one of his children. I know that he gives us trials here on this earth to make us stronger. Preslee's mom Ashley, had this quote on one of her blog posts that says, "I CAN DO HARD THINGS." I just want to testify that I know this to be true. If I couldn't do hard things in this life then I wouldn't be who I am today. Preslee truly is an angel and I am grateful for her inspiration and peace of mind she gives me. Preslee's parents are such amazing people and I hope the best for them and their little family.
I read the Sullengers blog weekly and keep up with what is happening in their lives. I can't wait to become a mom and to have children of my own that I can love and cherish. Preslee's parents are such examples to me and are so strong. I know that Preslee is now watching over her family with her Heavenly Father with a sparkle in her eyes, a smile on her face, and love in her heart.
