Pumpkin Carving 2011/Fall Decorations

On Monday night for family home evening carved our pumpkins. Every year we carve pumpkins and set them outside to enjoy them. We carved something simple this year because we didn't want to go through the hassel of buying the kit and tools and the time. It was a ton of fun and a great way for us to spend some time together. We have both been super busy with school and work we barely have time to breathe. Randy and I also bought some fall decorations and decorated our house. There are only pictures of two things because the rest of it for some reason wouldn't photograph well. I can't believe that it is already the middle of October and Halloween and Thanksgiving are just around the corner.

Birthday Guy

Today is my dads birthday! He is such an amazing guy and I am lucky to have him as my dad. I am such a daddy's girl and have been close to my dad ever since I can remember. He is such a hardworker and provider for his family. He does what he can when he can do and it so reliable. I love you dad! Happy Birthday and I hope you have such a great day!

Birthday Woman

Today is my mother-in-law's birthday. She is such an incredible woman. I can't even begin to say every good thing about her. She has had such an influence on my life and has loved me as her own daughter. She is so awesome and would do anything for anybody. She is an amazing wife, mother, grandma, aunt, sister, daughter, and woman. I hope that when I become a mom and can be half as good as she is. Happy Birthday Mom! I hope you have such an amazing day and know that we love you so much!

Spud Harvest 2011

At the end of last month Randy and I got to enjoy and watch spud harvesting take place once again. We have done this every fall since we have been married. I have only seen his uncle Bart and his small farm but this year I got the opportunity to see a bigger process with a bigger spud harvest company.  We got to ride with Randy's Grandpa Chambers. He drives spud truck for this company every year. Below is a picture of grandpa driving the truck.

The company he drives for is owned by two brothers by the name of Matsurra. One of the brothers lives in grandpa's ward and he does it to help them out. We rode and watched for about two hours and I must say it was the biggest spud harvest operation I have seen. They had a total of 14 trucks driving and were filling three cellars in the process and that was after they had already filled other cellars. It was really hot and dusty but so much fun. Idaho is famous for their potatoes and Blackfoot is known as the potato capital of the world. They even have a Spud Expo museum. I love living in Idaho especially around harvest time because call me weird but I love the smell of potato dirt and the inside of a potato cellar. Monster Trucks

Yesterday Randy and I went to the Monster Truck show in Blackfoot at the Fair Grounds. It was my first time going and I had my reservations about it but it turned out to be really fun. The show consisted of monster trucks, motorcross motorcycles, and tough trucks. One of the trucks jumped over the cars landed on its front end flipped over onto its top and somehow flipped back onto its wheels and kept driving!

Well Randy and I have gotten all moved in and settled to our new house. We moved about two months ago and the laundry room constructed is all done. We still have some organizing to do downstairs and in the two extra bedrooms but nothing that can't wait till school is out in December. Our house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a two car garage, and a huge yard. We live in a nice neighborhood with lots of nice people. We love our new place and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Coming Home!

 On Tuesday September 13, my cousin Bobby came home from his second tour in Iraq in the last six years. He was gone for a year and it was good to have him come back home. Randy and I went to the Idaho Falls airport to welcome him home. We waited for about twenty minutes and watched his plane land. It was really emotional because while we waited we a ton of other families waiting as well and there was so much excitement for them to come home. After we said hello to him and hugged I looked around watched other families welcome their loved ones home. There was one family that the dad had returned home and had met his baby girl for the first time. It was a really neat experience and it is great to have Bobby home. Thanks for your service we love you!

Timpanogos Cave

 While Randy and I were in Utah two weeks ago we hiked to Timpanogos Caves. It was a ton of fun but really hard. I am not one for hiking and but it was so worth it when I got to the top. Even though I had to take a lot of breaks Randy was very patient with me. My sister Mikala came with us but she basically hiked it by herself because that girl can do anything without needing to take a break. We decided to hike to the caves because Randy had never been before and he wanted to see what it was like.
